Board-Certified Dermatologist
Trisha Patel, MD
Trisha Patel, MD, FAAD is a board-certified dermatologist with comprehensive training in medical and procedural dermatology. She earned her medical degree and completed her internal medicine internship at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. She then completed her dermatology residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C. Dr. Patel is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the American Medical Association, and the Skin of Color Society.
Dr. Patel has a special interest in diagnosing and treating a wide range of dermatologic conditions for both pediatric and adult patients including skin cancers, rashes, and acne. She recognizes the complexity of skin care and takes an individualized, patient-centered approach to treatment. This includes carefully assessing a patient’s diverse skin tones and ethnic backgrounds prior to determining the most appropriate treatment plan.
Dr. Patel is passionate about helping patients improve their quality of life through effective skin care and finds great fulfillment in seeing the confidence her patients gain as their skin health improves. What she enjoys most about dermatology is the opportunity to make a visible and meaningful impact on her patients’ lives, particularly those affected by physically and emotionally distressing skin conditions.
Dr. Patel moved to Santa Fe in 2021 after falling in love with New Mexico’s breathtaking mountains and mesmorizing skies. Since then, she embarked on a meaningful journey to find the right practice to truly call home. Guided by a deep belief that everyone deserves access to compassionate, affordable, and effective healthcare—and inspired by the loyalty and trust of her patients—Dr. Patel fulfilled a childhood dream by founding Southwest Dermatology.
